Why Should I Clean My Dryer Vent?

People are always telling you to have your dryer vent professionally cleaned, especially if it goes through the roof, and I’m going to show you an example as to why.

What you’re looking at is the lint buildup in the part that comes out of the attic and goes through the roof of your house.

This was sent to me by the technician at a house to show me what’s going on. But let me show you what’s going on.

The hose that connects to that… look at that!

And it gets worse.

And you think pulling out all the lint from that little screen that catches it in your dryer does the trick? No. Stuff floats up in there and gets caught. The heat from the dryer can catch that lint on fire and potentially set your house on fire.

This happens so many times.
